Winter has made its presence felt in Saxony with snowfall in the low mountain ranges and slippery roads. According to the German Weather Service, up to five centimetres of fresh snow fell above 600 meters in the morning. The reason for this is low pressure system 'Quiteria', which will cross Germany during the course of the day. For the south, this means significantly stronger winds and even gale-force winds, and for the north, snow in some areas down to low altitudes with temporary icy conditions.
